Tomas Tranströmer was one of the greatest poets of our time. His poems illuminate reality with both sharpness and tenderness. In 2011, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature “because, through his condensed, translucent images, he gives us fresh access to reality”.
The evening begins with a conversation between Monica Tranströmer, Tomas Tranströmers wife, and Carin Klaesson from the Nobel Prize Museum, about Tomas Tranströmer’s writing and poetic universe. Afterwards, Monica Tranströmer will donate Tomas Tranströmer’s Nobel Prize medal and diploma to the museum.
During the evening, actor Staffan Göthe reads poems by Tomas Tranströmer, and the evening concludes with a short guided tour on the theme of literature.
