When U.S. President Donald Trump introduced sweeping trade tariffs on the rest of the world, other countries responded with tariffs of their own. The war in Ukraine continues, and an increasing share of Sweden’s and other European countries’ budgets is being allocated to defence spending.

What happens to the economy when the global map is redrawn and a new world order begins to take shape? How do we consume in uncertain times? What’s happening to prices, and how should we now think about saving and borrowing?

Join a conversation with prominent researchers from Stockholm University and the Stockholm School of Economics.

Speakers

John Hassler, Professor of Economics at Stockholm University and Chair of the Committee for the Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.

Sara Rosengren, Professor of Marketing and Head of the Center for Retailing at the Stockholm School of Economics.

The discussion will be moderated by Anna Jonsson, Associate Professor of Business Administration and organisational researcher at Stockholm University.
