On 10 October at 11:00, this year’s Nobel Peace Price is announced. Experience the excitement of the live announcement at the Nobel Prize Museum.
Each day, the announcement of this year’s Nobel Prize recipients is live-streamed as the respective Nobel Prize committees reveal who will be awarded in their fields. Invited experts are on site to help explain what the prizes are awarded for — and what they could mean for the future.
About the Nobel Peace Prize
Alfred Nobel showed a great interest in social issues and the peace movement. His acquaintanceship with Bertha von Suttner, who was a driving force in the international peace movement in Europe and was later awarded the Peace Prize, influenced his view of peace.
Peace was the fifth and final prize category that Nobel mentioned in his will. Since 1901, Nobel Peace Prize laureates have been selected by a committee elected by the Norwegian Parliament (Storting).
