On 7 October at 11:45, this year’s Nobel Prize in Physics is announced. Experience the excitement of the live announcement at the Nobel Prize Museum.
Each day, the announcement of this year’s Nobel Prize recipients is live-streamed as the respective Nobel Prize committees reveal who will be awarded in their fields. Invited experts are on site to help explain what the prizes are awarded for — and what they could mean for the future.
About the Nobel Prize in Physics
Physics was the prize category that Alfred Nobel mentioned first in his 1895 will. In the late nineteenth century, many scientists considered physics to be the foremost of the sciences ‒ perhaps even Nobel himself.
Nobel’s own research was closely related to physics. Since 1901, Nobel Prize laureates in physics have been selected by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
