In Nobel Creations 2022, students from Beckmans College of Design interpreted the year’s Nobel Prizes through fashion creations that emphasized a sense of three-dimensional form and artistic vision. The starting point was the concept of “wearable formal attire,” but also the qualities that unite Nobel Prize Laureates, artists, and designers: the courage to think differently, to question established methods, and to merge diverse forms of knowledge into new expressions.
The students interpreted the Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, Peace, and the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.
The creations
The 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to Svante Pääbo “for his discoveries concerning the genomes of extinct hominins and human evolution.” This prize was interpreted by Olivia Henriksson and Sofus van Mierlo.
The 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to three individuals – Alain Aspect, John Clauser, and Anton Zeilinger – each of whom conducted groundbreaking experiments with entangled quantum states, where two particles remain connected even when separated. Their results paved the way for a new kind of technology based on quantum information. This prize was interpreted by Johannes Jansson and Karolin Lysén.

The 2022 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal, and K. Barry Sharpless for the discovery and application of the method known as click chemistry. This prize was interpreted by Lina Fujikawa and Linn Hermander.
The 2022 Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded to the French author Annie Ernaux “for the courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements, and collective constraints of personal memory.” This prize was interpreted by Gustav Flovin and Julia Wahlberg.

The Nobel Peace Prize 2022 was awarded to human rights advocate Ales Bialiatski from Belarus, the Russian human rights organization Memorial, and the Ukrainian human rights organization Center for Civil Liberties. They document war crimes, human rights violations, and abuses of power. This prize was interpreted by Elin Olsson, Kristin Svensson, and Vanja Weichselbaumer.
the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2022 was awarded to Ben S. Bernanke, Douglas W. Diamond, and Philip H. Dybvig “for research on banks and financial crises.” This prize was interpreted by Hanna Eriksson and Amanda Warnbo.
