In October 2011, the Swedish Academy announced that the Swedish poet Tomas Tranströmer would receive the Nobel Prize in literature, “because, through his condensed, translucent images, he gives us fresh access to reality”.
The exhibition Tomas Tranströmer – To go into reality itself, about the poet and his works, consists of two parts. For one part, bookbinders from all over the world have interpreted his poems in the form of artistically rendered bindings. The second part is biographical where the content of Tranströmer’s books have materialised in the room in the form of objects, texts and images.
In the biographical part, there are four themes: The Self, Nature, Music and The World.
