About Nobel Week Lights

What is Nobel Week Lights?

Nobel Week Lights is an annual light festival lighting up the city during the darkest time of the year. The festival is presented by the Nobel Prize Museum and invites both international and local artists, designers, and students to create large-scale public light artworks.

The light installations interpret scientific discoveries, literature and peace work awarded the Nobel Prize.

What are the dates of Nobel Week Lights 2025?

Nobel Week Lights 2025 takes place 6–14 December.

What are the opening hours?

All artworks are lit between 16:00–22:00.

Where does the festival take place? Where can I find the artworks?

Nobel Week Light takes place outdoors in public spaces in the City of Stockholm. The two festival zones showcasing artworks in 2025 are in the city center and in Tensta. Please see the map for the exact location of the artworks.

Are there guided tours? How do I sign up?

Yes! In 2025, Nobel Week Lights provides 63 free guided tours. The tours are held in Swedish, Swedish Sign Language, English, French, Spanish, Northern Sámi, Finnish, Arabic, Tigrinya and Somali. The tours are released and available for booking on 17 November here on the website.

Is there an admission fee?

No, attending Nobel Week Lights is completely free!

Is there a map?

Yes, the map is available at the website: Nobel Week Lights festival map.
The map is also available in physical form and can be collected at the info signs beside each artwork. The physical maps are free.
