Razan Albunayah, By the Sea
Razan Albunayah, By the Sea.

By the Sea is a light installation inspired by Abdulrazak Gurnah who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature 2021 “for his uncompromising and compassionate penetration of the effects of colonialism and the fate of the refugee in the gulf between cultures and continents.”

The light moves like waves and symbolises the journey between what once was and what is yet to come. With By the Sea the artist Razan Albunayah pays tribute to the hope that carries us forward, the strength found in rootlessness and new beginnings. The artwork’s blue wave-like light merges with Tenstagången, linking it to Tenstaplan and extending the installation across a broader urban landscape.
