The projection begins by immersing the viewer in the heart of Stockholm’s sublime nature and art. The audience will be transported in time to witness representations of Stockholm through historical paintings. Following this, the doors of the Stockholm City Hall open to unveil the treasures it holds, its architectural and historical jewels.
The artwork transforms the façade, bringing the inside to the outside and displaying the iconic halls where great minds gather once a year to honor the scientific and literary discoveries of their era.
The audience will be presented with the Nobel Prize awarded discoveries of 1923, a year that was impactful for the advancement of science and art, and the same year that the city hall was inaugurated. The Nobel Prize awarded contributions showcased in the artwork included the discovery of insulin, the invention of a method of micro-analysis of organic substances, work on the elementary charge of electricity as well as the poetry of William Butler Yeats.
The grand spectacle ends with a culmination of light, illuminating the night sky to celebrate the Stockholm City Hall and its role as spectator and participant in a living culture of art, history, and science.
