A museum for the whole family

Explore the museum with the whole family! Bring your children and loved ones to our museum in the heart of Gamla Stan, Stockholm.

We offer an audioguide for children, a fun quiz trail, a workshop space with free activities for children every weekend as well as a room to play in.

The workshop

Discover the museum’s weekend workshop! Every weekend, our educators lead experiments, crafts, and creative activities that help children learn more about science, literature, and peace.

All workshop activities are free for children.

Become a little explorer

Explore the exhibition These things changed the world, where over 250 items donated by Nobel Prize laureates are on display. Grab the Little explorer activity trail and get to know scientists, authors, and even Alfred Nobel himself—while searching for clues.

The Little Explorer is a perfect activity for the whole family, and older children can enjoy it on their own too.

The Bubble chamber

Imagine if a bubble appeared every time you had an idea – how bubbly the world would be! Alfred Nobel had many ideas, and his most famous invention is dynamite. Thanks to him, we now have the Nobel Prize – awarded to those who bubble with ideas.

In the Bubble chamber, children can explore, read, experiment, and discover everything from the laws of physics to how the human body works and what rights children have.

The Bubble chamber has something for everyone, but it’s especially great for children aged 3 to 9.

Activities for children during holidays

Whether you are a Stockholm resident looking for something to do with children on the weekend or traveling to Stockholm with children, there are activities in the workshop space during all school holidays.

Welcome to visit us during Easter break, summer break, autumn break, or Christmas break.

Baby changing station, strollers and nursing

  • There is one toilet with a baby changing station.
  • The main entrance has stairs, so if you come to the museum with a stroller, it’s better to use the accesible entrance at the backside of the museum, between the church Storkyrkan and the museum building. Use the intercom at the accessible entrance, to open the door.
  • There is no nursing room, but there are places to sit in the museum, and you are welcome to breastfeed your baby where you feel comfortable.
