What happens when new ideas change the world, while at the same time rendering old ones obsolete? Join Philippe Aghion, the 2025 laureate in economic sciences, as he explores the power of innovation, the drivers of economic growth, and the process of creative destruction that shapes our future.

In talk with Gustav Källstrand from the Nobel Prize Museum, Aghion will discuss how innovation emerges, why it often brings conflict and disruption, and how societies can create the conditions for progress without falling into stagnation.

A Swedish edition of Philippe Aghion’s book The Power of Creative Destruction has recently been released by Volante in collaboration with EFN Bok. It features texts by Joel Mokyr, Philippe Aghion, and Peter Howitt, compiled and edited by Johan Norberg.

This event is presented in collaboration with Handelsbanken Foundations & Publishing.
