Model of the new Nobel building on display at ArkDes

On October 23 a new exhibition will open at ArkDes, the museum of In the exhibition Without Borders the wooden model of the new Nobel building will be showcased.

The wooden model of the new Nobel House, previously displayed in our exhibition Project Nobel Center, has now been carefully packed and transported to ArkDes, where it will feature in the forthcoming exhibition Without Borders.

The exhibition explores the exchange between Swedish architecture and the rest of the world. Drawings, sketches, photographs and models illustrate how Sweden engages with the world through architecture and design. It also highlights how ideas, materials, techniques and people from other countries have helped shape cities and communities across Sweden.

The title Without Borders is borrowed from an exhibition held at Mosebacke in Stockholm in 1957. There, a giant globe featuring a map of the world without national borders painted on its inner surface symbolised a belief in a more open world, characterised by greater exchange and cooperation between countries.

We look forward to experiencing the exhibition and are delighted that the model will have the opportunity to meet a new audience there.
