Firefly Field consists of flying light points simulating the movements of fireflies. They glow, dart and hover above the ground. The ever-changing bioluminescence of each one is reflected in the ground below. In a group, they create a dynamic light scene that triggers curiosity and awe.

The artwork is an ode to Giorgio Parisi (Physics 2021) for “the discovery of the interplay of disorder and fluctuations in physical systems from atomic to planetary scales”.

Parisis discoveries in complex systems made it possible to understand and describe apparently random materials and phenomena – such as the synchronization of a crowd clapping or fireflies flashing.
